Bone Grafting Reviews
Although dental implants are the best option for replacing damaged or missing teeth, many patients don't immediately qualify as good candidates to receive implants. Patients who have been missing teeth for an extended length of time often experience moderate to severe jaw bone atrophy, making dental implants a less likely solution. Dental implants need adequate jaw bone support to be successful. Fortunately, bone grafting procedures are available to restore bone to a patient's jaw, which can then provide the foundation needed for successful implant placement.
There are several bone grafting procedures available at our office. Patients who have a tooth extraction and need a bone graft to ensure their mouth will be ready for dental implants in the future will most likely undergo a socket preservation procedure. Patients who need a dental implant placed in the upper arch may require a sinus lift to add bone in the thin space that separates the sinuses from the upper dental arch.
